Six weeks is it? Six weeks since my last post? Well you should all know by now that posting regularly isn't my forte. However I am forgetting to mention something far more important than the fact that I'm a massive unorganised twat... PRETTY LITTLE VIBE TURNS 1 TODAY!
It's super weird to think I've been doing this a year, let alone what's happened whilst doing. it's insane what blogging has taught/ done for me in the last year. Cue list...
BE MORE CONFIDENT
I started this blog anonymously and kept it that way for months. For some reason I was afraid to tell anyone that I was behind the blog. I signed off my first post with my initial, like I was some kind of mysterious upper east side socialite, rather than the brummie nause that I am.
I was drunk when I finally decided to post a link to the blog on my Facebook and twitter. I think it kind of went down the lines of "for all of you that don't know yet, I've got a blog" nothing fancy. I remember waking up in the morning and my head not being filled with the feeling of dread, I was glad that I finally publicised it.
And if you compare my Instagram feed now to what it was this time last year, you'll notice the increase in selfies and mirror pics. I'm trying to convince myself that it's the boost in my confidence and not just the fact that I'm vein!
DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK
This is similar to the whole confidence thing, and one of the reasons why I kept it anonymous at the start. What would people think about me writing a blog about fashion and beauty? Would they think I'm a stuck up priss?
I didn't even need to worry about all that. People are always asking me how the blogging is going, or telling their friends about what I do. It makes me happy to know that people are supportive and enjoy it!
DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!
Not everyone will know that I've dropped out of uni... twice. The first time I thought it was just because of the course so I changed from Law to Media. I studied both for a year and Media seemed to be the right choice. However after working full time over the summer I had a lot more time for blogging and found myself enjoying working more than uni. I then realised that uni wasn't something I wanted to pursue. I'm a lot happier now working full time and earning extra money doing this!
DON'T GIVE UP
There were a few times when I thought "what's the point in posting again? Are people actually reading the shit I write?"
I'm so glad I didn't give up because the response over the last few months has been huge! I've been featured on Styleicona's website as one of their Style Icons, and the amount of people reading has just blown up!
FUCK IT
